Dinner serving for Sunnyside Community House (former Sunnyside Methodist Church)

Open to all Middle Schoolers and parents.  Every Wednesday volunteers host a free dinner meal for those in need.  They have been serving dinner on Wed's for nearly 35 years!!!  They welcome small groups from SES to help serve dinner from 5:00pm-7:30pm.  Volunteers help serve and get to enjoy the meal with guests.  This is a great way to get to know people in our community. SES Spring Garden Day Sunday May 1st 9:00am-1:00pm

Come join in all the FUN Sunday May 1st here at SES in the school gardens.  We have lots of work to do to prepare for plentiful growing months ahead.  Middle schooler's this is a great opportunity to knock out your garden service hours!  Parents welcome too, students please sign up with Vinnie, Jenna or Steph

Sunday, April 24 from 9:30am to 2pm

Celebrate Earth Day and the beautiful spring bloom at this Portland-area preserve. 
Volunteers will help remove invasive plant species and families are welcome to join.

Camassia is a spring wildflower haven and is home to the rare pale larkspur, which occurs at
only a few locations in the Willamette Valley. Although encompassing only 27 acres, Camassia 
contains many "small worlds"--from Oregon white oak-madrone woodlands to wet meadows 
and hosts over 400 plant species. Volunteers will assist with removal of invasive species while 
enjoying Camassia during the beautiful spring wildflower season.

We still have room for 14 guests at this event.
The reservation limit per user is 5 guests.

Tideman Johnson Park (Inner SE) – mulching, invasives removal

Saturday, December 5, 9:00 AM–noon

Join Portland Parks & Recreation, Friends of Tideman Johnson, Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Impact NW to mulch an area to prepare it for future native planting and to protect a former native planting by removing invasive species. Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear and/or sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea, KIND Snacks and homemade treats provided.

Meet at:  SE 37^th Ave. & Tenino St. Turn west onto Crystal Springs Blvd. from SE 45^th St. Turn left onto SE 37^th and park along the street next to the Springwater Corridor trail entrance.

Tri-met bus:  #75, SE 45^th & Springwater Corridor trail (SCT)/Johnson Creek Blvd. bus stop. Walk west on SCT for ½ mile.

Kelly Butte Natural Area (Outer SE Portland) – native planting

Saturday, December 12, 9:00 AM-noon

Join Portland Parks & Recreation, Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Friends of Trees to plant native trees and shrubs to provide better wildlife habitat on the top of the Butte. Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear and/or sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea and KIND Snacks provided.

Meet at: From Division St., turn south onto SE 103^rd Drive and follow road ½ mile up the hill. The gate will be unlocked so that volunteers can continue through the gate to park near the project site.

Tri-met: Bus #4 (Bus stop: SE 103^rd & Division). Walk south on SE 103^rd for ½ mile to top of Butte.
